We welcome Polstead into the network. We have had enquiries and a champion for the service in Polstead. Part of the village is in the valley and part is up on the hill. Someone on the higher ground can become the access point for the village being the link between the main service and those in the valley. We expect to signal test Assington and Polstead shortly. Polstead is on the cusp of four telephone exchanges, which means it's just about the furthest point you can get from the exchanges. This is why Broadband over the telephone (ADSL) is so terrible here. Mostly you can't get Broadband in Polstead but there are exceptions depending if your line is from Nayland, Hadleigh, Boxford or Higham! Wireless Broadband is going to be much simpler. Please support us by registering your interest. Enquire!

We have had a good response from our website enquiry form. Some people have told us that they have got Broadband via BT but it's very slow. Most have told us they have no Broadband. Our signal mapping software shows that everyone who has contacted us will be in range of our planned Assington access point. The next stage is to signal test our proposed location. We have released pricing which is £120 for installation and £20/month for 4Meg standard service.

People in rural areas are resourceful.
We probably get more real value out of
the Internet than people who live in towns such as Sudbury and cities like Colchester who have a very much
faster service. So why are we putting up with a watered down version of a real
Broadband connection? Maybe if we pester BT they will eventually give in and
improve the service. From past experience they will upgrade the rural speeds to
what the towns have now and at the same time the towns will get a service that
again makes ours look like dialup. It's time for us country folk to take matters
into our own hands. The problem is with BT and their decrepit telephone cables.
We can bypass the phone system by going wireless. I am an experienced rural
broadband consultant and I have been called in by local people to get them
Broadband Internet. We thought, why stop at just a couple of houses, why not
connect the whole area? With enough people ordering Broadband through me I can
bring a high speed Wireless Internet service into the area. This project
requires community support. Some people can become wireless repeaters for the
service to ensure that everyone who wants the service can receive it. With 20
orders I can bring in a service equivalent to that available in the cities.
